  • This signal includes a platform type ladder assembly and two short bracket arms for offset mounting of the signal head (as shown in the photo) and parts are included to build it as a single or double signal.---Please click on our videos tab to see some excellent build videos and tips from our customers. 5-10 - each = 10.95--- 10 or more - each 9.95--- (multiple kits packaged together)---- Without compromising scale, we have re-designed our signals now to hold our specially designed, micro tri-color LED right in the signal head which will eliminate fiber optics. These new LEDs have been developed in partnership with Richmond Controls. We are happy with the results, as these signals emit a strong light. One LED light is required for each signal head, and yes, the wiring does fit inside the pole. The new Micro LEDs need to be purchased separately.

    • Beautiful models!
I just purchased 4 of these signal towers for my 1970s era Union Pacific layout. The towers are a very close match to the signal towers UP used in the 1970s on their main line through Wyoming and Utah. All the parts were included in each of the jewel boxes provided. The directions are very detailed and I spent a good deal of time making sure I understood them before I began to assemble the models. The original model had the access ladder coming down at an angle and the directions indicated that the parts would create such; however, the parts included cause the ladder to go straight down parallel to the mast. This is no problem but it took me a while to understand the difference in the pieces. This model takes some time and patience to build but the result is beautiful signal tower. I did not place LEDs in my towers although I have left the backs off the signals should I ever want to add LEDs. Also, I placed the towers on my layout without any glues drilling a #56 hole in the base layout and having enough mast length to insert into the hole. As the directions indicate, give serious consideration to the length of the mast (including having enough to left to insert into your base layout)! I found that doing 4 models all at once worked well as the models were easier to build after I had mastered the first. Tweezers that can hold the mast tight were a big help; also, I found working the ladder from top to bottom with AC glue one piece at a time(rather than trying to place all the pieces on the mast at one time) made building the model easier. I obviously used the first tower as the template for the other 3. I am very happy with the results and the signal towers look great on the layout!!
