  • LEE KING RADIATOR & MUFFLER REPAIR SHOP on ROUTE 66 - It was simply two lanes of concrete and blacktop connecting the Midwest and the West Coast but it became a cultural icon. Nothing brings back nostalgic All-American emotions of days gone by like the historic Route 66. Gas Stations, Motels and Eating Joints, both utilitarian and whimsical, competed for highway traveler’s attention and much needed dollars, not realizing that they would create a legacy that would far outlive most of them. And, beginning with this kit, custom care for your means of transportation is considered.

LEE KING is well known for his expertise in the hole patching business for well worn automobiles. His motto is “If it holds something, it’s eventually gonna leak.” After many years working in auto repair, Lee has found that mufflers and radiators seem to come in the shop most often. Now he specializes in covering all issues for “both ends” of your car.
Model built by Raul Perez. Raul also created simulated arc welders in each of the shop floor service pits with warm-white LEDs in the shop and office that dim when each of the welders come on. Maybe Lee King should consider upgrading his incoming AC service panel to better manage all the power that those arc welders use.

See the necessary resources that Raul used to create the effect by clicking on the Instructions tab. The book entitled "Getting Started with Adafruit Trinket" provides the necessary sources and instructions for the Arduino integrated development environment (IDE), the USBtinyISP driver required to program the Trinket, and instructions on how to upload a program from your computer to the Trinket that was used to simulate arc welders and the shop lighting. The book is available from Adafruit.com. The program code needed to run the simulated welders and shop lights on the Trinket will be available exclusively through Showcase Miniatures.
