  • This is the first in a series of kits in partnership with Jason Jensen of Jason Jensen Trains. This is Jason's design and build of a small fuel and oil warehouse. The Val-U brand includes fuel, oil and other petroleum products. The warehouse has seen better days but is still in operation. The pictures for this kit depict heavy weathering. If you wish to achieve this look, we are including Jason's weathering instructions along with our step-by-step instructions for this kit. Click on the instructions tab above for this information.

    The kit features:
*Precision laser cut parts including peel-and-stick backed windows for easy assembly
*Pewter metal casting details to add character
    *Easy to assemble tab-and-slot-construction
    *High resolution graphics
    *Waterslide decals
    *Detailed step-by-step instructions

I really enjoyed making the HO scale Val-U Fuel and Oil kit from Showcase Miniatures. This is a Jason Jenson Kit so if you follow him on Facebook you can get some great ideas on how to finish it. I made some modifications to mine and used different colors than Jason used and the way the kit is designed you can have several options you can do with the model. The really cool part that I have not seen on other models is the windows that pivot on the upper floor section. The kits had excellent instructions and also painting and weathering tips supplied by Jason. I did find I needed to study the parts diagram before assembly and also referred to them during assembly but overall it was not hard to build. The laser cut wood was easy to remove from the sprues and needed very little trimming. You get all you need including detail parts, decals and paper signage. I wanted a sign on the front of the building so I just scanned it to my computer and then reprinted scaled down. I highly recommend this kit for any layout and it fits easily with just about any time period.
